ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Navy held its Fleet Annual Efficiency Competition Parade on Friday at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard in Karachi, with the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf serving as the chief guest.

The event marked the conclusion of a successful and operationally accomplished year for the Pakistan Navy Fleet, which includes warships, submarines, and aviation units. Upon his arrival, the CNS was warmly received by Rear Admiral Abdul Munib, Commander of Pakistan Fleet, and a ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented.

Addressing the event, Admiral Ashraf expressed full satisfaction with the operational readiness of the Pakistan Navy Fleet. He commended the dedication and professionalism of officers and sailors, highlighting their success in achieving key operational milestones for 2024. The CNS also praised the Fleet’s essential role in ensuring maritime security, particularly protecting national and international sea lanes of communication.

Emphasizing the significance of strategic maritime zones, including Gwadar Port and the maritime projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Admiral Ashraf underscored the importance of maintaining heightened readiness in light of the evolving maritime security situation in the region. He noted that Pakistan Navy is committed to addressing potential threats to national maritime boundaries.

In his welcome address, Rear Admiral Munib outlined the Fleet’s operational accomplishments of the past year, including participation in numerous bilateral and multilateral exercises, regional maritime security patrols, and overseas deployments.

At the ceremony’s conclusion, the CNS presented awards and trophies to the top-performing squadrons and units within the Pakistan Navy Fleet Command, recognizing their excellence and efforts in maintaining combat readiness throughout the year.
