ISLAMABAD: An important meeting will take place between Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman and traders on Tuesday (tomorrow) before the countrywide shutterdown strike on August 28 announced by the Jamaat-i-Islami and traders' organizations against inflated power bills and taxes.
Trader leaders of Karachi are divided over the meeting with Chairman FBR Rashid Langriyal, who has invited the traders across the country to discuss the Tajir Dost Scheme and tax related issues.
Only six trader leaders of Karachi have been invited by the chairman for the meeting. Rizwan Irfan and Atiq Mir have decided to attend the meeting in Islamabad whereas Sherjeel Goplani said that he was also going to meet the FBR chairman tomorrow.
However, trader leaders Mansoor Jack and Shaikh Habib have excused to join the meeting and agreed to attend the meeting via online.
Rizwan Irfan and Atiq Mir have demanded to abolish the Tajir Dost Scheme and replace it with fix tax scheme.
The meeting between the FBR Chairman and traders is being seen important in view of the countrywide strike on Aug 28.
