ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has suggested the possibility of establishing a fresh political entity in the near future.
"We are currently engaged in discussions and laying the groundwork for the formation of a new political party," he stated to the media upon his arrival for a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) hearing.
"The nation is in need of a new political party," he emphasized.
Abbasi, previously a prominent figure within the PML-N, urged the President and Prime Minister to take action to benefit the country, including the abolition of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
"I am not seeking the withdrawal of cases against me, but rather a fair resolution to all these cases," he clarified.
Responding to a query about his relationship with Nawaz Sharif, the estranged PML-N leader mentioned that he currently has no communication with him. "I am willing to meet him if and when he calls for it," he added.
