QUETTA: Pakistan has indefinitely closed border crossing points connecting Balochistan with Iran in response to escalating regional tensions.
According to the Panjgur district administration, both crossing points — Cheedgi and Jirak-Prom — located along the Iran-Pakistan border will remain closed until further notice. The measure aims to ensure public safety amid ongoing uncertainty in the region.
The district administration said that both border points have also been banned from the fuel transport, the ban will remain in force until the situation is normalized so the people should refrain from unnecessary movement.
The district administration of Gwadar has announced the indefinite closure of the Gabad-Kalato 250 border crossing with Iran amid rising regional tensions.
According to officials, the corridor will remain shut until further notice, as part of precautionary measures taken due to the ongoing volatile situation in Iran.
The district administration said the decision was made in light of the government's instructions. The district administration has appealed to the public to cooperate in this regard and said that the district administration should be contacted for any information or guidance.
Pakistan has further tightened its border controls with Iran by suspending the corridor at the Radeeg-Mand crossing point in Kech district.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Kech, the passage at Radeeg-Mand will remain closed until further notice due to the prevailing tensions in Iran.
The official statement urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities and avoid unnecessary movement near the border areas.
In addition to the land closures, airspace between Pakistan and Iran also remains suspended, while the Interior Ministry has strongly advised Pakistani citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran in light of recent Israeli strikes.
Meanwhile, the situation at Taftan Border, Balochistan’s key land link with Iran, remains stable. Cross-border trade and passenger movement are continuing as normal.
Officials confirmed that no pilgrims are currently present in Taftan, and people arriving from Iran continue to be facilitated without disruption.
