ISLAMABAD: Senator Qasim Ranjo, a dissident member of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) Mengal defector has resigned from his position in the Senate.
BNP-Mengal defector Senator Qasim Ronjo has resigned from the membership of the Senate, he has submitted his resignation to the Secretary Senate.
Qasim Ronjo is also the parliamentary leader of BNP Mengal in the Senate. Sardar Akhtar Mengal asked him and Senator Naseema Ehsan to resign, as both the senators voted for the constitutional amendments against polity policy.
Both senators deviated from the party line and voted in favor of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, prompting Akhtar Mengal to ask them to resign from the upper house of Parliament.
It should be noted that Balochistan National Party (BNP) Acting President Sajid Tareen had alleged that "government officials" had kidnapped Senator Ronjo along with his son and driver.
It was said that there was no contact with the husband and son of Senator Naseema Ehsan, who are believed to have been picked up.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zain Qureshi revealed on Monday that he went into hiding at the advice of his father, Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
In a video statement, Zain explained that his father instructed him to disappear, emphasizing that he never supported the recent constitutional amendment. He dismissed reports suggesting his endorsement of the changes as “baseless propaganda.”
Zain disclosed that his father had called him to Lahore, where he is currently imprisoned in connection with another case. Shah Mehmood Qureshi strongly opposed approving the amendment, and Zain reiterated that the claims about his support were misleading.
