Yashma was a guest on a show and spoke about how she was diagnosed with depression at the age of 21. She shared that “her family situation did play a role in it as her father had two households and he was married twice. Her father is a very just man and always balanced the two houses but as a child when you watch movies about these situations or hear a certain argument in the house, you take them differently. Her older brother was also very strict when she was in school and all these things combined played a role in affecting her mental health.”

She revealed that “she also had derealization disorder and she was scared to drive because of it. It happened due to the depression she faced and she got herself treated to be better.”

She also shared how a heartbreak changed her and what she learned from it. Yashma said her breakup gave her more depth and understanding of life. She added that she became more emotionally intelligent and started understanding her emotions better.
