Rawalpindi: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the Afghan Taliban carried out drone attacks aimed at harassing the people of Pakistan.
According to ISPR, the drones were neutralized using both soft-kill and hard-kill methods before reaching their intended targets. The military said the drones sent by the Afghan Taliban failed to hit their objectives.
However, debris from the destroyed drones caused injuries to civilians. Two children were injured in Quetta, while one civilian each was injured in Kohat and Rawalpindi.
ISPR described the drone attacks as a malicious attempt to spread fear and panic among the public. It said the incident reflects what it called the “terrorist mindset” of the Afghan Taliban.
The statement added that while the Afghan Taliban try to present themselves as victims to gain international sympathy, they also target civilians through proxy groups and drone attacks.
The people and armed forces of Pakistan are aware of what it described as the real nature and intentions of the Afghan Taliban, adding that the group is ruling Afghanistan as a hired militant force after seizing control of the country, ISPR
The military also stated that Pakistan’s operation called Operation Ghazab‑lil‑Haq will continue until terrorism is eliminated. It added that if the Afghan Taliban do not stop terrorism against Pakistan, the operation will go on.
ISPR said Pakistan’s armed forces remain determined in the fight against terrorism, including drone attacks, and will continue defending citizens from militants and their facilitators. It also stated that Pakistan will not back down in the face of such provocations.
