Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced plans to expand its operations to Europe and the United Kingdom (UK) following the lifting of a ban by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The national carrier’s spokesperson revealed that preparations are underway to reintroduce aircraft previously in storage as part of its network expansion. The airline plans to increase its Boeing 777 fleet to eight while expanding its A-320 fleet to 12 and adding two ATR jets to its operational capacity.
“These additions align with PIA’s ambitious operational strategy for 2025,” the spokesperson stated.
The airline aims to cater to the high demand on international routes, particularly for the large Pakistani diaspora residing in Europe and the UK. Enhanced schedule reliability and on-time performance, currently exceeding 90%, are key focuses in PIA’s efforts to rebuild its reputation and passenger trust.
This move marks a significant step forward for the national carrier, reflecting its commitment to modernizing its fleet and delivering better service for travelers.
