The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Directorate of Revenue, has announced an important facilitation measure for taxpayers in connection with the issuance of Property Tax Bills for the financial year 2026-27.
In view of the ongoing upgradation of the Property Tax Billing System, the issuance of Property Tax Bills for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional properties will commence within 10 working days.
To facilitate taxpayers due to billing system upgradation, the rebate period for payment of Property Tax for 2026-27 has been extended. The rebate period will now be calculated from the date of issuance of the Property Tax Bill, rather than from any earlier date.
The MCI Directorate of Revenue has further clarified that the additional 5% rebate admissible for early payment will remain available to taxpayers from the date of issuance of the bill until its due date. This measure has been introduced to provide taxpayers sufficient time to receive, review and pay their bills while retaining the benefit of the applicable rebate.
The revised arrangement is applicable to all relevant categories of properties, including:
* Residential properties
* Commercial properties
* Industrial properties
* Institutional properties
The MCI has asked all property owners and taxpayers to make timely payment of their Property Tax bills after receipt in order to avail themselves of the applicable rebate and avoid any inconvenience.
The Directorate of Revenue has also established dedicated contact numbers to facilitate taxpayers and respond to their queries.

The MCI Directorate of Revenue has reiterated its commitment to improving the efficiency, transparency and taxpayer friendliness of the Property Tax system through modernization and upgradation of its billing mechanism.
The public is informed to obtain information only through official channels and to cooperate with the Directorate of Revenue in the timely payment of Property Tax, which contributes towards the provision and improvement of municipal services and civic facilities in Islamabad.
