Moscow: Russia has successfully tested the world's most destructive cruise missiles, which were carried out by the modern nuclear submarine "Orel". The experiment was carried out in the Brents Sea, where the Russian Navy's modern war preparations were also revealed.
According to the Russian media, the 949A "Antey-class" submarine is the latest and most powerful weapon of Russia's naval forces, equipped with "Granite" cruise missiles.
These missiles have been claimed to be four times larger and far more destructive than ordinary naval cruise missiles. The Grants Cruise missiles are capable of targeting their targets up to 500 km away, which presents them as a manifestation of Russian naval domination in the region.
According to experts, this experience is an attempt to further strengthen Russia's defense force globally, especially at a time when the global geographical tensions are seeing an increase.
The Russian Defence Ministry announced regarding the exercises. Oscar II Class ships entered service in the Soviet Navy from 1986, with the last joining the Russian Navy in 1994.
The ships were considered revolutionary for the Soviet Navy, and were widely regarded as the most capable attack submarine class of the Cold War era for anti-shipping duties.
Each of the ships carries 24 of the cruise missiles, which were designed to target heavily defended carrier strike groups at ranges of close to 500 kilometres.
