A drone launched from Lebanon hit Prime Minister Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea, north of Tel Aviv, as confirmed by his spokesperson.
Netanyahu and his family were not at the residence during the attack, and no injuries were reported.
The military stated that two additional drones entering Israeli territory were intercepted. The Israeli ambulance service and police confirmed no casualties and reported explosions heard in Caesarea, where Netanyahu has a holiday home.
The drone attack has not been claimed by Hezbollah, despite recent exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah since last October. The incident came a day after Hamas confirmed that its leader, Yahya Sinwar, was killed in Gaza.
Sinwar, who was born in the Khan Younis refugee camp, joined Hamas in 1987. He spent 23 years in Israeli prisons before being released in a prisoner exchange in 2011.
Sinwar became Hamas' leader following the death of former leader Ismail Haniyeh in July 2024 and advocated for a unified Palestinian state that included Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Sinwar's death would not stop the "Axis of Resistance" and assured that Hamas would continue. "His loss is painful for the Axis of Resistance, but this front did not stop progressing despite the martyrdom of key figures," Khamenei stated. "Hamas is alive and will remain alive."
