Talking about how characters are important, he said “Yes, people here are always running for lead characters but you can get noticed in any role if you are giving your 100%. He also said that male actors in his age group do not like to take on father roles but his role as father in Mein made him a superstar overnight.”

Answering Tabish Hashmi he said “Humayun Saeed who is just a few years younger than him, would he ever play a grown-up hero’s father on TV. Shahzad said that Humayun is a great friend and world heroes are over 40 years old so his characters are fine but he will probably not take on such a role. Among his contemporaries, he praised Faysal Quraishi who has played father roles if the character had meat in it.”
