How to apply for Hajj 2026 from Pakistan, Registration begins for intending pilgrims

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has officially started the registration process for intending pilgrims for Hajj 2026.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has made advance registration mandatory for both government and private Hajj schemes, without requiring any registration fee. It has also directed overseas Pakistanis to complete the registration process.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has set July 9 as the deadline for intending pilgrims to complete their registration. Only those who register by this date will be eligible for Hajj 2026. Pilgrims can complete the registration process at fifteen designated banks across the country.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs said the registration process follows the instructions of the Government of Saudi Arabia. Saudi authorities will allocate Pakistan’s Hajj quota based on the number of completed registrations.

This year, 1,673,230 pilgrims from around the world participated in the Hajj, including 1,506,576 international pilgrims who arrived from 171 countries.

According to Saudi Arabia’s official records, 166,654 domestic pilgrims also took part in the pilgrimage. The event marked one of the most balanced gender ratios in Hajj history, with 877,841 men and 795,389 women performing Hajj.

Saudi officials implemented comprehensive cooling strategies after last year’s tragic death toll of 1,301 caused by extreme temperatures that reached 51.8°C (125°F).
