Simpson emphasized that she and Eric Johnson are prioritizing their three children—Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5—amid their split. She stated that they remain focused on doing what is best for their kids. “We appreciate all the love and support we have received and kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this as a family,” she added.

In November 2024, Simpson sparked split rumors while teasing new music. She shared on Instagram, “This comeback is personal; it’s an apology to myself for tolerating everything I didn’t deserve.”

Though Jessica did not specify the hardships she had faced, fans quickly theorized that her comments referred to her relationship with Johnson.

That same day, Jessica’s sister, Ashlee Simpson, addressed the rumors while walking in LA with her husband, Evan Ross. When TMZ asked whether Jessica and Johnson were heading for a divorce, Ashlee simply responded, “No.”
