Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) introduced Changan’s electric-first brand, DEEPAL, on Friday at Dolmen Mall Clifton in Karachi.
Visitors can experience and test drive the vehicles at the mall until August 25.
At the launch, Master Changan Motors Limited showcased the Deepal L07 sedan and Deepal S07 SUV. The company also revealed plans to invest $50 million in the entire electric vehicle (EV) value chain, including the development of a charging infrastructure across Pakistan.
Additionally, the company announced plans to install chargers nationwide across 17 cities as part of their $50 million investment in the EV sector. “Despite having over 2,000 EVs in the country, mass adoption has yet to take off,” said Daniyal Malik, CEO of Changan Motors.
He outlined four key challenges to accelerating mass EV adoption: introducing the right EV products at competitive prices, ensuring efficient batteries for longer driving ranges, establishing a nationwide after-sales support network, and setting up charging infrastructure in 17 cities.
Malik also emphasized that Master Changan is addressing the first challenge by launching Deepal at prices comparable to older gasoline and hybrid models.
Deepal Cars Specification
Changan Pakistan introduced the brand Deepal, featuring two models: the L07, a fully electric sports luxury sedan, and the S07, a fully electric premium SUV. Both vehicles deliver an exhilarating 250 HP and 320 Nm of instant torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
Equipped with a 66.8 kWh Ternary Lithium battery from CATL, the L07 offers an impressive range of up to 540 km, while the S07 provides a range of up to 485 km. Designed in Italy at Changan’s R&D center, these cars boast a striking futuristic design that earned them the German RedDot design award in 2023.
As one of China’s oldest and largest automobile brands, Changan developed the EV-first EPA-01 platform. Huawei contributes its advanced Harmony OS intelligent software powered by the Snapdragon 8155 processor, while CATL, the world’s leading battery manufacturer, supplies the Ternary Lithium battery, offering 99% state-of-charge accuracy and virtually eliminating range anxiety.

The Deepal S07, a crossover SUV, is available for pre-booking with prices starting at Rs16.5 million.

The Deepal L07, a Sedan, is available for pre-booking with prices starting at Rs15.5 million.
Additionally, car manufacturers announced that the booking price for both Deepal s07 and Deepal l07 is Rs. 3,000,000. Pre-booking customers can avail complimentary 7kWh wall charger, the company stated.
