The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted more rain accompanied by strong winds for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts of Pakistan from Tuesday evening through Thursday. This weather phenomenon is due to a westerly wave affecting the upper and central regions of Pakistan.
Expectations include rain, wind, and thunderstorms in the twin cities and isolated areas of the Potohar region, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir during this period. Additionally, hot weather with gusty winds is anticipated across the country's plains.
On Tuesday, Islamabad may experience maximum temperatures ranging from 40-42°C, while Rawalpindi could see temperatures between 38-40°C. Wednesday and Thursday are likely to bring slightly cooler temperatures.
During the past 24 hours, most parts of the country experienced hot and dry conditions, although isolated areas of upper Punjab and Kashmir saw rain, wind, and thunderstorms.
Specifically, Punjab witnessed rainfall in several regions, including Joharabad, Hafizabad, and Sargodha. In Kashmir, Kotli and Rawalakot received moderate rainfall.
Bhakkar and Kot Addu recorded the highest temperatures in the province, reaching 48°C, while various other cities such as Dera Ghazi Khan and Dadu experienced temperatures around 47°C.
In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the maximum temperatures were recorded at 42°C, with relative humidity in the morning ranging from 24% to 34%, respectively.
