Rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Monday night and Tuesday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country.
Under these conditions, windstorm/thunderstorm-rain is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places of Potohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northeast Balochistan on Monday night and Tuesday. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40-42°C on Tuesday and 41-43°C on Wednesday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37-39°C on Tuesday and 38-40°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. However, rain wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Barkhan.

Turbat remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 49°C. Maximum temperature in Sibbi, Dadu, Chhor and Nawabshah was recorded at 47°C, and Sakrand, Bhakkar and Padidan at 46°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 32 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 20 per cent.
