LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday announced its candidates for the National Assembly seats nationwide in preparation for the general elections scheduled for February 8.
This announcement seems to indicate that the party is not pursuing a seat adjustment plan.
As per the list shared on X (formerly Twitter), the PTI disclosed candidates for 233 out of the 266 general seats in the National Assembly.
The total number of seats, including 10 reserved for non-Muslims and 60 reserved for women, amounts to 336 following the new delimitation list.
Key figures from the PTI include Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, contesting from NA-10 in Buner, Sher Afzal Marwat nominated for NA-41 in Lakki Marwat, and Ayaz Amir securing a ticket for NA-58 in Chakwal.

Other prominent candidates include Murad Saeed for NA-4 in Swat, Omar Ayub Khan for NA-18 in Haripur, Asad Qaiser for NA-19 in Swabi, Ali Muhammad Khan for NA-23 in Mardan-III, Shahryar Afridi for NA-35 in Kohat, and Ali Amin Gandapur for NA-44 in DI Khan-I.
Notably, PTI has chosen to support Shahryar Riaz against veteran politician Sheikh Rasheed in NA-56 (Rawalpindi-V), where Sheikh Rashid's nephew, Sheikh Rasheed Shafiq, did not secure a PTI ticket.
In Lahore, the PTI unveiled its candidates, with Aaliyah Hamza, Wasim Qadir, Latif Khosa, and Afzal Azim securing tickets across various constituencies. Endorsements were granted to Karamat Khokhar and Zaheer Abbas in NA-126 and NA-127, respectively, while Mian Azhar emerged as the party's candidate for NA-129. Yasmin Rashid's ticket for NA-130 was also confirmed.
However, uncertainty surrounds several constituencies, including NA-132 in Kasur, from where PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif will contest the election. Pending nominations also affect four Lahore constituencies (NA-117, NA-119, NA-120, and NA-125), as well as decisions for NA-74 in Sialkot, NA-82 in Sargodha, and NA-94.
