Pakistan will land on the moon by 2035, says planning Minister

Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal congratulated the nation on the successful launch of Pakistan’s latest remote sensing satellite, marking a major step forward in the country’s space ambitions.

He praised the hard work and dedication of the SUPARCO team, engineers, and scientists who made the launch possible, and expressed deep gratitude to China for its continued support. “We are thankful for China’s strong cooperation. The satellite has successfully reached its orbit,” he said.

Looking ahead, the minister shared Pakistan’s ambitious plans for space exploration. He announced that, with China’s help, Pakistan will send its first astronaut into space next year. He also revealed that the country is aiming even higher—to land on the moon by 2035.

Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that Pakistan is ready to reclaim a leading role in space technology. “This is just the beginning,” he said, expressing confidence in the country’s potential to achieve great milestones in the years to come.
