RAWALPINDI: April 4, 2025 – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir chaired the 268th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where senior military leaders discussed key security challenges and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability.
The forum began with a solemn tribute to the martyrs of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), and civilians who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s security. In addition, attendees offered prayers for the departed souls, honoring their ultimate sacrifice. Furthermore, the gathering acknowledged the courage and dedication of those who continue to serve, pledging to uphold their legacy in the ongoing fight for peace and stability.
The conference focused on Pakistan’s strategic responses to the evolving geo-strategic environment and emerging national security threats. Senior military officials assessed regional and internal security dynamics, emphasizing Pakistan’s determination to combat terrorism in all its forms, regardless of the cost.
The forum strongly reaffirmed its resolve to ensure peace in Balochistan, vowing to counter the activities of foreign-backed proxies and disruptive elements seeking to destabilize the region. It condemned efforts to use political agendas at the expense of Balochistan's stability and prosperity and stressed that such attempts would be decisively thwarted with the unwavering support of the Baloch people.
Highlighting the importance of the National Action Plan (NAP), the forum underscored the need for a united national effort to eradicate terrorism and illicit activities. COAS General Munir praised the establishment of District Coordination Committees across Pakistan and called for seamless collaboration between government and military institutions to implement NAP effectively.
The COAS also reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to supporting the government and law enforcement agencies in taking stringent measures against illicit economic activities, emphasizing their connection to terrorism financing.
Addressing regional issues, the forum expressed grave concern over the ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and unprovoked ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC). It reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of IIOJK and called for sustained diplomatic efforts to highlight the human rights abuses globally.
The forum also voiced solidarity with Palestine, condemning the human rights violations and war crimes in Gaza, and reiterated Pakistan’s diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Palestinian cause.
