Former chairman of the Ruet-e-Halal Committee and religious scholar Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has announced the amounts for Fitrana, Fidya, and Kaffara for fasting.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman stated that the Fitrana is two kilos of wheat flour and Fidya for one day’s fast is 300 rupees. The minimum amount for Sadaqat-ul-Fitr and Fidya is 300 rupees per person. Wealthy individuals should pay Fitrana, Fidya, and Kaffara according to their financial status.
Similarly, for Muslims who want to pay Fitrana according to ‘barley’, ‘dates’, ‘raisins’, and ‘cheese’, the rates are as follows:
According to the announcement, the Fitrana and Fidya for barley is four kilos and 600 rupees for one day’s fast respectively. The Fitrana and Fidya for dates is four kilos and 2400 rupees for one day’s fast respectively. The Fitrana and Fidya for raisinsis four kilos and 4400 rupees for one day’s fast respectively
Mufti Muneeb says that the Kaffara for breaking a fast is to feed two meals to 60 needy people. The cost is 18,000 rupees for two kilos of wheat flour, 36,000 rupees for four kilos of barley, 144,000 rupees for four kilos of dates, and 264,000 rupees for four kilos of raisins.
According to the announcement, these are the minimum amounts for Fitrana, Fidya, and Kaffara based on wheat. Those whom Allah has blessed with abundance in sustenance should pay Fitrana, Fidya, and Kaffara according to their financial status based on barley, dates, raisins, or cheese.
It should be noted that it is necessary to pay Sadaqat-ul-Fitr before the Eid prayer, and the head of the household must also pay Fitrana for his loved ones, i.e., wife and children, etc.
