KARACHI: A fire erupted at an illegal petrol pump located in Karachi's Shah Faisal colony, trapping residents inside a nearby building.
Initial reports indicate that the petrol pump was unlawfully operating beneath the residential structure, endangering the lives of those living there. The fire quickly spread to the building, leaving occupants stranded inside.
Rescue teams are making efforts to evacuate the trapped residents, but their efforts are being hampered by thick smoke filling the building.
One fire department unit has been dispatched to control the blaze, with additional fire tenders being called in for support. Several motorcycles parked outside the petrol pump also caught fire.
