Within three days, Israel has conducted strikes in six countries: Palestine (Gaza), Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, and Yemen.
Israel Targets Hamas Leadership in Qatar: On Tuesday, Israeli forces launched a targeted air strike on a Hamas leadership compound in Doha, Qatar, during a meeting to discuss a US-proposed ceasefire for Gaza.
The operation resulted in the deaths of six individuals, including the son of senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, his office director, three bodyguards, and a Qatari security officer. Top Hamas leaders reportedly survived the attack.
Ongoing Assaults on Gaza: Meanwhile, Israel has continued its relentless bombardment of Gaza since October 2023, with recent reports indicating at least 150 deaths and over 540 injuries since Monday. Hospitals are overwhelmed, treating victims of airstrikes that target high-rise buildings, infrastructure, and civilian residences.
The death toll since the conflict’s onset has surpassed 64,656, including many presumed dead under the rubble and those succumbing to famine-related causes. The humanitarian crisis deepens as many residents are left with nowhere safe to seek refuge.
Violations of Ceasefire and Cross-Border Strikes in Lebanon: Despite a ceasefire agreement signed last November, Israel has maintained near-daily assaults on Lebanese territory. On Monday, Israeli warplanes struck targets in the Bekaa and Hermel districts of eastern Lebanon, killing at least five people and damaging suspected Hezbollah weapons depots.
An Israeli drone also wounded a Hezbollah member at the village of Barja, south of Beirut. The Lebanese government condemned these violations, which undermine hopes for peace.
Attacks in Syria: Late Monday, Israeli airstrikes targeted military sites in Syria, hitting a Syrian air force base in Homs and military positions near Latakia. Residents reported loud explosions, though no casualties have been confirmed.
Syria’s government condemned the strikes as blatant violations of sovereignty, with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reporting nearly 100 Israeli attacks in 2025, including air raids and ground assaults, resulting in the destruction of approximately 135 sites and the deaths of 61 individuals.
Yemen’s Capital Under Fire: In Yemen, Israel launched an airstrike on Sanaa on Wednesday, targeting Houthi positions at the airport. This was the second attack on the airport in a month, following an earlier strike that damaged the terminal and runway.
In August, Israel also targeted a Houthi government meeting, killing Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and several officials, marking a significant escalation in Yemen’s conflict.
