Vikrant Massey regrets not spending enough time with wife and son

  • Vikrant Massey, known for his role in "12th Fail," has announced a hiatus from acting due to exhaustion and repetitive roles.
  • Massey acknowledged the importance of his son's growth and the need to spend more time with family.
  • He assured fans that he has no plans to leave acting to avoid burnout.
Vikrant Massey’s post about recalibration earlier this year quickly went viral online, sparking speculation among internet users that he was announcing his retirement. Recently, the “12th Fail” actor clarified the post, explaining that he decided to recalibrate to prioritize spending time with his family. He candidly admitted that work commitments had kept him from going on a honeymoon with his wife.

In a recent conversation with Fever FM, Vikrant Massey discussed his recalibration post, explaining that many people misunderstood its meaning due to its concise wording. The actor emphasized his commitment to being in front of the camera, regardless of the platform—TV, OTT, or cinema. He also highlighted the overwhelming love he received for his work in “12th Fail”, “Sector 36”, and “The Sabarmati Report”.

Vikrant Massey further explained his decision to take a hiatus, emphasizing that work had become physically and mentally exhausting. The *12th Fail* actor admitted feeling stuck in repetitive roles. He criticized the low standards of quality, noting that audiences often praised what he considered average or below-average work. Vikrant stressed that this dynamic was unsustainable for his long-term growth.

“I want to act for as long as I can. I want to keep that creative thing within me alive. Isiliye maine socha ki (thus, I thought) this is the right time for me,” he said.

Talking about its significance in his personal life, he added, “Shaadi ki, biwi ke saath honeymoon pe nahi jaa paaye. Uske saath 3 mahine se zyaada baith nahi paaye. Beta hua, ‘papa’ mere peeth peeche usne kaha, chalna mere peeche shuru kiya, uske daant aaye main dekh nahi paaya (I got married but couldn’t go to honeymoon and sit with my wife for more than 3 months. I had my son who started saying ‘papa,’ walk and had his teeth behind my back).”

He admitted watching his son grow up through phone calls, which made him realize that life moves on regardless. However, he emphasized his need to spend more time with his family, travel, read, and rest. Determined to avoid burnout, he assured fans that he has no plans to leave acting.
