In the December 11 episode of the podcast, Sophia Bush shared her thoughts on the reboot, first teased in August alongside Hilarie Burton, as reported by a source. Bush described the experience as “the most inclusive process,” which she deeply cherishes.
She elaborated, saying, “Reconnecting with the original group of our family has been really special. Hearing everyone's excitement, trepidation, reasons for embracing it, fears about it, and their hopes and needs for the project has been incredibly meaningful.”
Bush highlighted how "cool" it is to see everyone branching out into producing, writing, directing, and other creative fields. She described collaborating with her friends and learning from the incredible women involved as a “beautiful” experience.
The “Good Sam” star shared her excitement about seeing everyone's ideas for what their characters would be doing now. She added that, even if the project doesn’t ultimately get filmed during development, the “world-building” by the women and men who helped create the show from the start has brought her immense joy.
Bush reflected on how meaningful it has been to witness this process, even if nothing comes of it. She explained that this is what she truly cherishes. By seeing the showrunners develop the present-day lives of the characters, she’s been able to answer common fan questions about where she thinks the characters are now. She concluded, “So wherever it goes, it’s been a gift.”
