As the sequel to his successful 2022 horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, fans were eagerly awaiting the new installment. However, many moviegoers expressed their dissatisfaction and criticized Aaryan's performance as well as the overall caliber of the film when the trailer dropped online.

Returning to the role of Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Aaryan has come under fire from several internet users for allegedly "cringe overacting." The excitement fans had hoped for was not even sparked by Vidya Balan's return as Manjulika. Along with Triptii Dimri, who plays Aaryan's love interest, the trailer also introduced Madhuri Dixit as another Manjulika, performing a rendition of the famous Dola Re Dola from Devdas (2002).
