Hamas confirms death of Abu Obeida

Abu Obeida was wounded during an Israeli airstrike on Gaza in August.

Hamas’ armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, has officially confirmed the death of its spokesperson Abu Obeida.

According to statement, Abu Obeida was killed during the ongoing war with Israel this year. Hamas also confirmed that its Gaza chief, Mohammed Sinwar, was killed in the same conflict.

Abu Obeida was wounded during an Israeli airstrike on Gaza in August and later died from his injuries while undergoing medical treatment.

Hamas further confirmed the deaths of Rafah Brigade commander Mohammed Shabana, along with two other senior leaders, Hakem al-Issa and Raed Saad. The group said all of them were killed as a result of Israeli military operations.

The announcement comes amid continued fighting and escalating tensions in the Gaza Strip.
