The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to generate significant revenue from the upcoming Champions Trophy, set to take place in the UAE from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
Over half of the ticket sales revenue is expected to go to Pakistan, with a formal agreement on this matter soon to be finalized between the PCB and the Emirates Cricket Board.
The Indian cricket team’s matches, including the highly anticipated Pakistan vs. India clash on February 23, will be played in Dubai, as India had declined to tour Pakistan.
If the Pakistan team reaches the final, they will play five matches; four if they make it to the semi-finals, and three if they are eliminated in the first round.
Originally, the PCB had planned to host the Pakistan-India match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. However, due to the Indian board's refusal, the match will now take place in Dubai.
The UAE’s Dubai Cricket Stadium, with a seating capacity of over 25,000, is expected to be packed for this exciting encounter, as fans from both countries living in the UAE and those traveling from abroad are expected to fill the stands.
While the final match would have been held in Lahore, the UAE matches still promise to bring substantial revenue for Pakistan. The ICC will soon release ticket prices and sales schedules for the highly anticipated event.
