Chasing a modest target of 158, England wrapped up the match in the 16th over, having dismissed Pakistan for 157.
The English batsmen came out swinging, racking up 78 runs during the powerplay. Phil Salt, alongside skipper Jos Buttler, maintained an aggressive stance, consistently challenging the Pakistani bowlers.
The duo put on an 82-run partnership until Haris Rauf provided a glimmer of hope for Pakistani supporters by taking Salt’s wicket at 45 runs. Rauf continued his momentum, claiming Buttler at 39 runs and later Will Jacks at 20 runs.
England reached their target in just 15.3 overs, losing only three wickets, thanks to Jonny Bairstow’s unbeaten 28 and Harry Brook’s 17 not out.
Haris Rauf emerged as the sole effective bowler for Pakistan, ending with figures of 3/38.
Earlier in the game, Buttler opted to field first, and Pakistan’s openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan got off to a strong start.
Pakistan seemed to be in control until Babar’s dismissal at 36 runs on the final ball of the sixth over, leaving the score at 59-1.
Following Babar, Rizwan was bowled out by Adil Rashid at 23 runs. Pakistan’s innings continued to falter, but Usman Khan, stepping in for Saim Ayub, managed to score a vital 38 runs off 21 balls.
Other Pakistani batsmen like Fakhar Zaman, Azam Khan, and Shadab Khan struggled, while Iftikhar Ahmed added 21 runs. Naseem Shah contributed 16 runs lower down the order, with Pakistan’s innings concluding at 157 in 19.5 overs.
England’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, and Liam Livingstone each taking two wickets, and Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan, and Moeen Ali each claiming one.
It’s worth noting that the first and third T20Is were abandoned due to rain, and England had previously won the second T20I by 23 runs in Birmingham.
This series was the final preparation for both teams before the T20 World Cup 2024, set to start on June 1 in the United States and West Indies.
Pakistan is scheduled to depart for Dallas, USA, tomorrow, while England will head to Barbados, West Indies, to begin their World Cup endeavors.
