Despite facing delays due to copyright disputes and the COVID-19 pandemic, the film shattered box office records in Pakistan.

Written by Nasir Adeeb and directed by Bilal Lashari, The Legend of Maula Jatt continues to be screened in some Pakistani cinemas and has amassed over 200 crores in revenue.

Initially, the film was set for release in India, but opposition from extremist groups prevented a simultaneous launch.

Now, a new development indicates that The Legend of Maula Jatt might finally hit Indian theaters. Scheduled to release under the Zee Films banner on September 20, 2024, this would mark its Indian debut nearly two years after its global release.

However, whether the film will successfully make it to Indian screens this time remains to be seen, as the possibility of it being blocked by extremists still looms.
