Punjab Free Solar Scheme 2024: Complete Details Here

The Punjab government has completed the process to distribute free solar systems to the public across the province. This initiative aims to provide relief to the vulnerable segments of society amidst rising electricity prices in Pakistan. According to reports on Thursday, the free solar system scheme will cost the government Rs10 billion.

Who is Eligible for Punjab Solar System Scheme 2024?

The government will provide free solar systems to 50,000 families. Eligible families are those consuming up to 100 units of electricity per month. The provincial government will cover all expenses for the solar setup. However, those involved in electricity theft, meter tampering, or other illegal activities will not be eligible for the scheme.

The data of families consuming up to 100 units per month will be sent to the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), which will verify the information and forward it to the Punjab Information Technology Board. The board will then provide the verified lists to the district administration, which will distribute the solar systems to eligible families.

Punjab Solar Scheme Register Process

Families consuming up to 100 electricity units per month can register with the scheme through SMS. They are required to send their bill reference number and CNIC to 8800.

After verification, they will be informed about the results.
