The Met Department has issued a second alert about a low-pressure system forming over the central Arabian Sea.
While the system has become stronger since the last update, the department assures that there is no immediate threat to Pakistan's coastal areas. Currently, the low-pressure area is about 900 kilometers south of Karachi. Meteorologists are closely watching the system, as it could develop into a depression in the next one to two days. However, there is no risk to any coastal region of Pakistan at this time.
If the system becomes a cyclone, it will be named "Dana," a name suggested by Qatar that means "a precious and beautiful pearl" in Arabic.
The Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if the system intensifies further.
Previously, the Met office had warned that Karachi is expecting a mud storm followed by light rain. This sudden weather change is likely to bring strong winds, reducing visibility and creating difficult driving conditions.
While the drizzle may offer temporary relief from the heat, citizens are advised to take precautions and limit outdoor activities during the storm.
Most of the country is expected to have mainly dry weather, but cooler temperatures are anticipated in hilly areas at night. Continental air is currently affecting most parts of the country.
