KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) launched its campaign for the upcoming national-level polls a day after facing a setback in its efforts to retain the iconic electoral symbol 'bat' at the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
A rally led by central leader Sher Afzal Marwat at Karachi's Sea View beach on Sunday was attended a large of people.
Marwat addressing the gathering said that the fear of people has abolished and they would express their emotions on the day of February by casting votes in favour of the PTI.
He also announced a rally in Hyderabad tomorrow (Jan 15) and appeal the people to attend it.
The rally, announced by PTI leader Raja Azhar, marked the beginning of the campaign at Sea View in Karachi. However, Azhar complained about police barricades on the routes leading to the venue.

Subsequently, the traffic police clarified that the main track along Sea View beach was temporarily blocked due to the political rally but was restored soon after. They assured that there were no longer barricades on the roads leading to the spot.
The PTI suffered a significant setback as the Supreme Court nullified the Peshawar High Court’s January 10 order, which had temporarily restored the 'bat' as its electoral symbol.
This decision came in response to the ECP's plea challenging the high court's decision, which had overturned the commission’s order barring the PTI from retaining its symbol due to irregularities in their internal polls. Following a day-long hearing, the apex court overturned the PHC's ruling and upheld the electoral body's decision from December 22.
