Karachi will experience a combination of sunshine, fog, and cloudy skies over the next three days, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
These shifting weather patterns indicate the seasonal transition from winter to summer in the coastal city.
The Early Warning Centre has forecast clear skies and strong sunshine for Saturday. However, by Sunday morning, fog is expected to cover parts of the city, temporarily reducing visibility before giving way to bright and clear weather later in the day.
On Monday, Karachi is likely to experience mostly cloudy skies, bringing cooler conditions compared to the preceding days.
The Met Office forecasts shifting wind patterns in Karachi over the next three days. Northeastern winds from Balochistan are expected at night and early morning, while southwesterly sea breezes will take over in the afternoons.
Residents should be cautious of sudden temperature changes and reduced visibility, especially in the early mornings, as fog may affect traffic conditions.
Moreover, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the weather in Pakistan has turned dry once again, as the rain-bearing system that affected most of Punjab, including Lahore, has moved out.
The country’s plains are now experiencing a dry spell, although the residual effects of recent rainfall and snowfall in the mountainous regions are still being felt.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature today was recorded at 9°C, with a maximum of 23°C expected. The weather is forecast to remain cold and dry across most of the country, including the federal capital, Islamabad, and its surrounding areas.
In Punjab, a dry spell is expected across most districts, with severe cold and partially cloudy skies forecasted for Murree, Galyat, and neighboring areas.
In Sindh, the weather will remain dry in most districts, though a few areas may experience partial cloud cover. Similarly, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dry and cold weather is anticipated in most districts, with the upper regions experiencing severe cold.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, a cold and partly cloudy weather pattern is expected to persist. The southern regions of Balochistan are also expected to experience dry and cold weather, with northern areas seeing severe cold conditions.
The dry weather is set to last throughout the weekend, with a continued cold spell in the country’s northern and central regions.
