Heatwave will continue to persist in most parts of Sindh on Monday and Tuesday with 06 to 08°C above normal day temperatures.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air is dominant over most of Pakistan, with high pressure in the upper atmosphere expected to persist until May 27. A shallow westerly wave is also affecting the northern regions. Under these conditions, heatwaves are anticipated to continue in most parts of Sindh on Monday and Tuesday, with daytime temperatures in the southern districts being 6 to 8°C above normal. Karachi and other coastal areas can expect hot and humid weather, with the possibility of gusty and dust-raising winds in the afternoon.
Karachi's maximum temperatures are forecasted to be between 37-39°C on Monday and 38-40°C on Tuesday. Hyderabad's maximum temperatures are predicted to range from 45-47°C on Monday and 46-48°C on Tuesday. Heatwaves have already been affecting most parts of Sindh over the past 24 hours.
Mohenjo-Daro and Dadu remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 50°C. Maximum temperature in Jacobabad was recorded at 49°C, Shaheed Benazirabad, Padidan, Larkana, Rohri and Sukkur at 48°C, and Khairpur and Sakrand at 47°C.
In Karachi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 75 percent.
In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 66 percent.
