PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, here on Wednesday chaired an important meeting of Tehreek-e-Insaf regarding the protest on D Chowk, Islamabad on October 4.
The KP chief minister asked every Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) and the party leaders to bring more and more workers for the protest in the federal capital.
He instructed that all workers would reach at 12 o'clock on October Swabi where the procession would leave for D Chowk, Islamabad. It will be mandatory for everyone to reach Islamabad at every cost whether routes are closed.
Earlier on October 1, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur issued a stern warning to the Punjab police, stating that if they continue using violence against PTI workers, they will face consequences and be held accountable in his province.
He also commented on Maulana Fazlur Rehman's admission that the PTI government was toppled under US influence. "You (Rehman) became a part of this. We appreciate Maulana for his newfound awareness, but there are still truths he must reveal to the nation. Why is he now silent on certain matters?" questioned the chief minister.
Gandapur further asked why those involved in the ousting, who are still alive, are not responding. He emphasized that they would follow PTI chairman Imran Khan's directives, despite the government's efforts to obstruct them. He criticized the use of both bullets and violence, stating that while these tactics may delay them, they cannot deter their mission. He added that he would bring machinery to protests to remove obstacles, daring anyone to try and stop him.
Speaking to the media at the Peshawar High Court, Gandapur noted that laws need to evolve over time and called for amendments, particularly concerning courts and governance.
He mentioned that work has begun on reforming the 2017 Police Act to ensure justice and prevent the misuse of power.
He also praised the KP police force, attributing their professionalism to the province's strong culture and traditions. However, he expressed regret that during the caretaker government, the police were misused and admitted to facing pressure to act against their will.
