Field Marshal Asim Munir has said that India has pushed the region to the brink of war, warning that any further mistake would prove dangerous. Speaking to the Pakistani community during his visit to the United States, he said that Pakistan has waged a successful diplomatic campaign against India’s discriminatory and duplicitous policies.
He condemned recent Indian aggression, calling it a shameful act launched on false pretenses, and said that the involvement of India’s intelligence agency RAW in transnational terrorist activities is a matter of global concern. He cited examples such as the killing of a Sikh leader in Canada, the case of eight Indian naval officers in Qatar, and the arrest of Kulbhushan Jadhav.
The army chief said the aggression was a serious violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty that martyred innocent civilians. Addressing overseas Pakistanis, he called them a source of pride and enthusiasm, adding that they are “brain gain, not brain drain.”
He criticized India’s attempt to portray itself as a “Vishwa Guru” (world leader), saying it does not reflect reality. He also thanked former U.S. President Donald Trump, crediting him for helping to prevent not only a Pakistan-India conflict but several other wars. Munir stressed that Pakistan responded to Indian provocations with resolve and successfully prevented a broader conflict.
He accused India of persisting in destabilizing the region and reiterated that any Indian aggression would be met with a strong response. On Kashmir, he said it is not India’s internal matter but an unfinished international agenda, backed by UN Security Council resolutions.
Munir said his second visit to the U.S. in just six weeks reflects a new phase in Pakistan-U.S. relations, aiming to put ties on a constructive, sustainable, and positive path. He also described the ongoing genocide in Gaza as a severe humanitarian tragedy with global and regional consequences.
The army chief said multiple terrorist groups, including “Fitna al-Khawarij,” are active against Pakistan from Afghanistan. He emphasized that Pakistan’s development and prosperity are linked with overseas Pakistanis, and that Pakistan remains the last stronghold against terrorism. “There will be no sympathy for terrorists, and they will face full justice,” he said.
Munir praised the commitment of overseas Pakistanis, noting they are often the first to respond during national emergencies. He also warned about the misuse of social media by hostile elements to create “manufactured chaos.”
He revealed that a potential trade deal with the U.S. could bring significant foreign investment to Pakistan and said the country has made notable achievements in international relations. Work is ongoing on various memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with the U.S., Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and China.
