LAHORE: Faisal Siddiqui, CEO of Daewoo Group, has alleged that his company is facing threats and pressure from bureaucrats while carrying out cleanliness projects in Mailsi and Burewala under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Suthra Punjab initiative.
Speaking on the Bol News program “Bol Reports with Batool Rajpoot”, Siddiqui said his company won the contract through a transparent bidding process and is currently responsible for cleanliness work in 22 towns.
He added that billions of rupees have been invested in the project, including the purchase of 2,500 loader rickshaws for just two tehsils. According to him, the company has met all requirements, including machinery, human resources, and performance indicators (KPIs).
Despite this, Siddiqui claimed that bureaucrats are pressuring him and even threatening to cancel his company’s contract. He pointed out that on July 31, 2025, the Multan Waste Management Company sent him a letter praising his company’s performance and expressing interest in expanding the project. But only a few days later, he received a default notice.
He further alleged that the Commissioner of Multan is personally threatening him. Siddiqui said he has repeatedly informed the Secretary of Local Government and the concerned minister about the issue, but no action has been taken.
He appealed on-air for authorities to stop pressuring his company, saying they are only trying to deliver quality services under the chief minister’s flagship cleanliness program.
