ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday de-sealed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in Islamabad in compliance with the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) orders.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq issued the directive while hearing a petition submitted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
The provincial government, represented by the Secretary of Administration, approached the IHC, seeking the de-sealing of KP House until a final ruling is made in the case.
The petition argued that sealing the KP House, which is provincial government property, was unlawful. It further stated that confiscating official vehicles after the sealing was also illegal.
The CDA had earlier sealed parts of KP House in Islamabad following protests by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the capital.
Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif led the operation, which resulted in the sealing of blocks A and B of KP House, though block C was not sealed as families were residing there.
Additionally, rooms constructed for guests at KP House were sealed due to alleged "violations of rules."
