ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Aleem Khan is reportedly planning to step down from his position in the Privatization and Investment Board, according to sources cited by ARY News on Friday.
Aleem Khan has decided to step down from the Privatization and Investment Board while retaining his position as Minister of Communications.
Sources reveal that Aleem Khan has already informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about his decision to step down from the two ministries.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif allocated portfolios to newly inducted ministers, state ministers, and three advisers.
According to a notification, the government has assigned Haneef Abbasi to oversee the Railways Ministry, while Tariq Fazal Chaudhry will manage Parliamentary Affairs. Ali Pervez Malik has received the Petroleum portfolio, and Aurangzeb Khachi will lead the National Heritage Division.
The government has appointed Khalid Magsi as Minister for Science and Technology, Moin Wattoo as Minister for Water Resources, and Junaid Anwar Chaudhry as Minister for Maritime Affairs.
Sardar Yousuf will oversee Religious Affairs, Raza Hayat will lead Defence Production, and Shaza Fatima has taken charge of the Information Technology portfolio.
The government has appointed Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan to handle Public Affairs and Syed Mustafa Kamal as Minister for National Health Services.
These appointments strengthen the government’s efforts across various sectors.
On February 27, President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath to the new federal cabinet, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also present on the occasion.
