Schools in Punjab allowed to conduct summer camps from June 16

LAHORE: Punjab’s Minister for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has granted permission for schools to hold summer camps for a one-month period.

According to the minister, interested schools may organize summer camps from June 16 to July 15. However, he clarified that no school will be allowed to conduct a summer camp beyond 30 days.

He also emphasized that schools are not permitted to charge any additional fees for holding these camps.

Furthermore, schools must ensure adequate arrangements for protection from heat during the camp period, he added.

The duration of the summer camps will be from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and students will be exempt from wearing uniforms.

District Education Offices are tasked with monitoring schools during the summer camps to ensure the provision of adequate facilities. The minister also emphasized that no student should be forced to participate in these camps.

Public schools that can arrange necessary safety facilities are also permitted to hold summer camps. The School Education Department has already issued a notification regarding the summer camp guidelines.
