SUKKUR: Another major marathon event in Pakistan has received international certification, as the course for the Lok Suhita Marathon in Sukkur has been officially approved by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) and World Athletics.
The Lok Suhita Marathon now becomes the second internationally recognized marathon in Pakistan, following the Karachi Marathon, which had earlier been awarded the prestigious World Athletics label.
The Lok Suhita Marathon, held in Sukkur, has had its course approved by the AIMS World Athletics, making it the second marathon in Pakistan to receive this certification.
The approval means that the Lok Suhita Marathon, which runs from Sukkur to Khairpur and back, will now feature internationally certified courses for full marathons, half marathons, and 10-kilometer distances.
This is a significant milestone for long-distance running in the country, with the Karachi Marathon being the only other event to have previously received a World Athletics Label.
