VIS reaffirms K-Electric's credit rating as strong, stable outlook

The ratings reflect strong investor and financial institution confidence in KE’s performance.

KARACHI: The VIS Credit Rating Company has reaffirmed K-Electric’s long-term rating of ‘AA’ and short-term rating of ‘A-1+’ with a stable outlook.

According to a KE spokesperson, the ratings reflect strong confidence from investors and financial institutions in K-Electric’s performance and financial standing.

VIS has rated K-Electric’s ability to meet its short-term financial obligations on time as strong, highlighting consistent cash flows that continue to support debt repayments.

VIS noted that K-Electric’s long-term financial position remains linked to ongoing regulatory decisions, while progress under the multi-year tariff framework is considered important for future financial planning.

The spokesperson said investor confidence remains intact due to the utility’s operational performance and future development plans.

"The reaffirmation of the ratings reflects the utility’s overall financial stability and sustained market credibility."
