BYD launches Shark 6 PHEV in Pakistan: Here’s what it costs

Pakistan’s automotive sector just took a major leap into the future with the official launch of the BYD Shark 6 PHEV on July 25, 2025. Priced at PKR 19.95 million, this powerful plug-in hybrid electric vehicle marks BYD’s boldest entry yet into the Pakistani market.

The Shark 6 PHEV offers ruggedness and refinement, giving drivers high performance without making them compromise on environmental responsibility. With the country's growing demand for cleaner, more efficient mobility solutions, the arrival of the Shark couldn’t have come at a better time.

A New Standard in Hybrid Technology:

At the heart of the Shark 6 is BYD’s advanced Dual Mode (DM) hybrid platform—20 years in the making. Unlike conventional hybrids, this system gives priority to electric driving, switching to the petrol engine only when needed to extend the range. It’s powered by a Xiaoyun 1.5L high-efficiency engine and BYD’s groundbreaking Blade Battery, known worldwide for its safety, thermal stability, and long lifespan.

Power Meets Efficiency:

The Shark 6 PHEV doesn’t just promise eco-friendliness—it delivers serious muscle. It generates a massive 436 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful hybrids in its class. The vehicle offers a 100 km pure electric range, and a combined range of up to 800 km, making it ideal for both city commutes and cross-country adventures.

With a 29.58 kWh battery and a fuel efficiency of up to 50 km per liter, the Shark 6 also features multiple terrain modes—including Mud, Snow, and Sand—ensuring it handles any environment with ease.

Cleaner Air, Smarter Drive:

What truly sets the Shark 6 apart is its environmental impact. It reduces tailpipe CO₂ emissions by up to 62%, offering a much-needed breath of fresh air for pollution-heavy cities like Karachi and Lahore. This clean performance supports Pakistan’s broader goals for a greener, more sustainable future.

A Technological Milestone:

The launch of the BYD Shark 6 PHEV isn’t just about introducing a new vehicle—it represents a significant technological upgrade for Pakistan’s auto industry. Its intelligent hybrid system and terrain-responsive controls raise the bar for what local consumers can expect in performance, design, and innovation.

A World-Class Hybrid for Pakistan:

With BYD officially entering the Pakistani market, drivers now have access to a world-class hybrid vehicle that blends power, range, sustainability, and style in one bold package. The Shark 6 PHEV sets a powerful new benchmark—and could very well drive the country’s auto industry toward a cleaner, smarter future.
