Global leaders are actively engaging in diplomatic communication as tensions between Israel and Iran intensify. Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with former US President Donald Trump, while Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also spoke with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In these conversations, the leaders emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation and an immediate end to hostilities between Israel and Iran.
According to the Kremlin, President Putin and Trump discussed the situation in the Middle East during a 50-minute phone call. President Putin strongly condemned the Israeli military operation against Iran, reaffirming Russia’s opposition to any such aggression.
Both leaders also discussed the potential revival of Iran nuclear negotiations. Trump indicated that US negotiators are ready to resume talks with Iranian representatives. President Putin, on the other hand, stated that Russia would continue dialogue with Ukraine after June 22, and Trump expressed interest in resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict as soon as possible.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdoğan also held a telephone conversation, during which they expressed deep concern over the regional situation and strongly condemned Israel’s aggression against Iran.
Prime Minister Sharif called the Israeli strikes a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He warned that such actions pose a serious threat to global peace and stability.
President Erdoğan echoed these concerns and also condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people. He urged the United Nations and the international community to take immediate notice of Israel’s actions.
Amid rising tensions, diplomatic communications between world leaders continue. Just a day earlier, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also spoke to Trump by phone. Japan has also initiated diplomatic outreach, and Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the need for a serious and measured approach to resolving the crisis.
