LinkedIn has not made an official announcement yet, but the feature has been noticed by users and confirmed by TechCrunch’s testing.
This new vertical video feed will be located in a separate “video” tab in the LinkedIn app, as reported by Instagram employee Jenny Eishingdrelo and a video shared on LinkedIn by influencer marketing executive Austin Null. Similar to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels, this video tab will enable users to scroll vertically through different clips.
This is not the first time LinkedIn has incorporated a popular social media feature. The professional networking app introduced a feature akin to Instagram Stories a few years back, but it was discontinued within a year. However, LinkedIn hinted at that time that it was planning more video experiments, stating that it is working “to evolve the Stories format into a reimagined video experience across LinkedIn.”
LinkedIn seems to be relying on the new feed to showcase content from its community of professional creators and thought leaders, many of whom are actively posting video content on their feeds. However, it remains to be seen how interested the platform’s user base is in a dedicated video feed for work-related content.
LinkedIn has also recently explored the possibility of incorporating mini video games into the platform.
