This postponement marks another disruption in the PCB's domestic calendar; the Under-19 domestic tournament was previously suspended after just one day of play.
In light of these developments, the domestic department has instructed departmental teams to prepare for the Presidents Trophy, a backup tournament in case of further delays to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. "As a contingency, departments have been asked to be prepared," a source stated.
The Presidents Trophy, which is a first-class tournament for departmental teams, is currently scheduled to begin on January 6. Should the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy experience additional delays, insiders suggest that the PCB may prioritize the Presidents Trophy instead.
