The Sindh Culture and Tourism Department has inaugurated the highly anticipated Thar Desert Train Safari, providing travelers with a distinctive opportunity to experience the rich heritage and stunning landscapes of Tharparkar.
Operating between Karachi and Khokhrapar, this scenic train journey offers an immersive cultural adventure, with stops at lively cities, historic landmarks, and picturesque desert vistas.
Journey itinerary and experience
The two-day train safari operates on weekends and offers a carefully curated itinerary that blends adventure with local culture.
Day 1 (Saturday)
The train departs from Karachi Cantt Station at 10:00 AM and arrives at Chhor (Parchi Jeveri) by 5:00 PM.
Travelers will enjoy an evening of desert camping, bonfires, live music, and a traditional dinner under the stars.
Day 2 (Sunday)
The train leaves Chhor at 7:00 AM, reaching Khokhrapar Zero Point by 8:30 AM.
Passengers will have breakfast and sightseeing opportunities at Zero Point before the return journey.
The train departs from Khokhrapar at 11:00 AM and arrives back at Karachi Cantt Station by 6:00 PM.
Ticket price and booking details
According to the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC), the ticket price for the Thar Desert Train Safari is set at Rs30,000 per adult. Tickets can be booked online through the official STDC website.
