A heat wave is expected to persist in Karachi, Hyderabad, and most parts of Sindh on Thursday and Friday, accompanied by gusty winds that may raise dust during the afternoon. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air dominates most areas of Pakistan, with a shallow westerly wave present in the upper regions of the country.
In such weather conditions, heatwaves are likely to continue in Karachi, Hyderabad, and most districts of Sindh over the next two days. The afternoon may bring gusty winds that could offer some relief to those affected by the heat.
On Thursday, Karachi's maximum temperatures are forecasted to range between 37-39°C, while on Friday, they are expected to be between 36-38°C. Similarly, Hyderabad's maximum temperatures are predicted to be between 45-47°C on Thursday and 44-46°C on Friday.
During the past 24 hours, Karachi, Hyderabad, and most parts of Sindh experienced heatwaves. Jacobabad and Dadu were the hottest places in Sindh, recording a maximum temperature of 51°C. Other areas like Khairpur, Larkana, and Mohenjo-Daro saw temperatures of 50°C, while Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Rohri recorded temperatures of 49°C. Padidan and Hyderabad experienced temperatures of 48°C.
In Karachi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C, with an evening relative humidity of 54 percent. Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, the maximum temperature reached 48°C, with an evening relative humidity of 37 percent.
