Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to a two-state solution for the Palestinian conflict, emphasizing that it is the only way to achieve lasting peace in the region.
Addressing the World Governments Summit in Dubai, he highlighted the ongoing impact of the Gaza war, which resulted in the deaths of 50,000 Palestinians.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance on the creation of an independent Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
Economic recovery, investment goals
Discussing Pakistan’s economic outlook, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that despite facing immense challenges, the country is on the path to recovery.
He emphasized that Pakistan is at a pivotal moment of economic transformation, highlighting key improvements, including a sharp decline in inflation to 2.4% in January and an interest rate of 12%, which he described as favorable for private sector investment.
The premier also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to sustainable development, stressing that the country needs a $100 billion investment in the energy sector alone to meet its growing demands.

Addressing Pakistan’s energy transition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif outlined ambitious plans to generate 60% of the country’s energy from renewable sources by 2030.
He also announced that 30% of vehicles would be converted to electric energy to decrease reliance on fossil fuels.
"We are actively working to expand our solar energy capacity, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future," he emphasized.
